The Business Systems Analyst has primary responsibility for identifying enterprise-wide information needs; defining business requirements associated with those needs; integrating business requirements into corporate information delivery strategies; and ensuring that reporting solutions satisfy business requirements.
This individual reports to the Manager of Business Requirements and supports cross-functional business units within the organization. This individual also has significant interaction with Health Plan and Direct to Employer Markets, Solutions, Business Technology, Operations Finance and Operations Services. These interactions may include, but are not limited to, leading and facilitating team meetings, interviewing colleagues to identify data and information needs, mentoring colleagues in report design and functionality, and demonstrating, through group and individual presentations, report design and functionality.
This individual's responsibilities include developing customer specific business requirements that drive all solutions, assessing data integrity and analyzing data gaps, participating in user acceptance testing and ensuring consistent application of information management and reporting functions across the enterprise. This individual serves as a subject matter expert and technical resource for the BT and account teams for solution requirements, system setup, report definition and production, data analysis, and operational processes. As subject matter expert, this individual collaborates with business users and employs iterative methodologies to meet and exceed customer expectations.
The ideal candidate must be able to interpret and influence business user requirements to ensure that the most relevant information is generated with the greatest efficiency. Additionally, the ideal candidate must have
* 3 to 5 years experience analyzing and developing technical requirements for projects in the Healthcare or insurance industry
* Skills in Project Management
* Skills in MS Word, SQL, MS Access, MS Excel
* Knowledge of data governance processes, data quality processes, testing methodologies, reporting tools, application development
Within the healthcare industry, the ideal candidate will have general knowledge of delivery systems (HMO, PPO, etc.), data processing rules, regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA), as well as advanced knowledge of claims, membership, and provider data.
Knowledge of clinical, survey and other data as related to healthcare is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a record of success with problem-solving and managing multiple priorities. Some travel will be required.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Promote an enterprise-wide view of customer reporting
2. Ensure the appropriate translation of customer expectations into business requirements
* Develop and evaluate key performance metrics (including financial, utilization, clinical, satisfaction, and operational)
* Identify requirements for new data elements, including attributes, metadata, reports, and data values
* Determine operational process requirements
3. Participate in work groups and other initiatives designed to improve enterprise data management for external or internal customers
4. Function as Project Manager if necessary for small customer projects
Qualifications
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree required; emphasis in finance, accounting, economics, or information systems preferred
* 3-5 years of experience analyzing or producing requirements related to healthcare or insurance data
Demonstrated Knowledge

* Multi tasking various issues and priorities for various accounts
* Advanced knowledge of claims, membership, and provider data
